Approach
Do you know what you want?
Do you know what path you’ll choose to take to get there?
How will you know you’re making progress?
Who will support you along the way?
In my experience, coaching offers a structured time for reflection in order to rise above the day-to-day, and see themes emerging. It’s time spent connecting with self and others and getting clear on what really matters. It’s about leveraging your natural talents and developing in areas that are compelling to yourself and others around you. It’s also about exploring all of the many paths to arrive at your destination, and then choosing which one to travel.
Prospective clients sometimes ask about my style. I have been described as a blend of caring and tenacious. I hold dear the connections I build with my clients, and I love to have fun along the way.
Whether it’s individual coaching, facilitation of a team, or leading a workshop – I’m committed to serving you in the best way possible. I spend time up front understanding your needs and interests – your “care-abouts”, as I like to call them. We construct some shared agreements about how we’ll work together. Most of my coaching work with clients and teams follows this high-level process:
1. Getting Clear on What you Desire – If given a “blank page” to work from, what would you design for your future? Sometimes this includes obtaining feedback from others to help you see what they see as possibilities for you. You then choose what’s most compelling.
2. Bridging the Knowing-Doing Gap – Even if we know what we want, we often get stuck on the “doing” part. It can feel too big, or too amorphous. We will focus on what is possible to help you begin to move toward your future, today.
3. Harvesting the Learning – reflection is such a powerful process. Coaching provides the space to try new things and then look and see what’s working and what’s not. This iterative process ensures that you’re investing your energy in the most strategic ways.
4. Celebrating Success – near the end of our time together, we’ll review what insights you’ve gained, behaviors you’ve changed, and results you’ve realized. We’ll check in with others to see what they’ve noticed along the way, and we’ll celebrate all that you’ve accomplished.
